Content Model

Content model generation

The content model is generated based on the content model of the source sites and services, e.g., Drupal. The content model is generated when a Link is created in the Content Sync backend to connect, e.g., a Drupal space to a Content Cloud space. Please check out the Transformations article to learn more about how content type definitions are translated and how it can be customized.

The only data models directly managed in Content Cloud are for User Data Stores.

Content model scope

Content types are managed per environment. The same content type can have different properties depending on the environment. Different environments can also use different types for the same property.

Conflict resolution

If a source space includes multiple definitions for a content type, the definitions are merged and an overlap type that satisfies the constraints is created. This will make all fields optional that are only present in some definitions.

You can connect multiple source spaces, but if they contain overlapping, contradicting type definitions, this may lead to unexpected results. We recommend only connecting one source space per space or environment for most use cases. If you are unsure about this, please contact our support.
